Highly regarded as one of the New Republic's finest intelligence operatives, Antilles has been crucial to the success of several key missions, including the capture of Coruscant from the Empire. She unknowingly shot and killed her husband, Diric Wessiri, when he attempted to assassinate a witness she was protecting. While mourning, she forced herself back into intelligence work. Her long-time friendship with Wedge Antilles grew into something more during the incident at Adumar, where they were thrust into a civil war on the planet. Fearing for their lives, the two confessed their true feelings for each other and were later married on Coruscant.
Iella is currently the head of New Republic Intelligence and is a key individual in the resistance movement against the Yuuzhan Vong. She and Wedge now have two daughters, Myri and Syal.
